How do I know if Brain Balance is for me?

How do I know if Brain Balance is for me?

The brain can change at any age. For children, we identify developmental strengths and weaknesses to improve skills like attention, mood regulation, and learning. Addressing developmental gaps helps reduce challenges like hyperactivity and impulsivity. For adults, brain health affects cognitive functions, attention, and executive skills, which can impact work and relationships. The Brain Balance Program for adults strengthens brain function, enhancing focus, memory, and reducing anxiety to improve overall well-being.

What can I or my child expect during the program?

What can I or my child expect during the program?

Brain Balance stands out by strengthening the brain through real-life, synchronized tasks that engage multiple functions at once. Students wear sensory gear while performing physical exercises that target core muscles, balance, coordination, and timing. The program also includes exercises for the visual and auditory systems, along with academic activities and nutritional support. Tailored to each individual’s needs, it’s a comprehensive approach designed for measurable growth and progress.

What disorders does the program help with? Do I need a diagnosis?

What disorders does the program help with? Do I need a diagnosis?

You don’t need a formal diagnosis to benefit from the Brain Balance Program. Many of our students struggle with challenges like ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ODD, processing disorders (auditory, visual, sensory), and learning disorders (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia). Whether or not a label is present, the common factor is a developmental challenge that impacts areas like attention, focus, mood regulation, and social interaction. These challenges can affect learning and growth, but with targeted exercises and activities, the Brain Balance Program can help improve brain function and reduce developmental gaps.

Our Whole Brain Approach

Our Whole Brain Approach

Did you know the brain can change at any age? Change in the brain can refer to new pathways being formed or connections becoming stronger and more efficient. New pathways are formed through sensory stimulation, life experiences and new information. These connections and pathways are important because they communicate with all regions of the brain, allowing us to successfully perform daily cognitive and physical tasks, and facilitating our executive functioning.

When individuals struggle with focus, behavior, or sensory processing, it can be linked to weak connections across different regions in the brain. But the good news is, we know that the brain can change.

The Brain Balance program is designed to strengthen and build brain connectivity with a unique combination of physical, sensory, and cognitive activities. These new, efficient, and effective connections in the brain help improve in the following areas:

  • Cognitive Tasks
  • Executive Functioning
  • Focus
  • Memory
  • Learning
  • Comprehension
  • Reasoning
  • Behaviors & EmotionsOrganization
  • Self-motivation
  • Problem Solving

By building stronger brain connections, you can help yourself or your child get to the root of their challenges and build a stronger foundation for success.

What to Expect During the Assessment

What to Expect During the Assessment

The assessment includes sensory, physical, and cognitive activities that identify areas of development that need strengthening. These critical areas of development are at the root of our ability to pay attention, learn, engage, interact, and manage stress, behavior, and anxiety.

From the results of the assessment, our team will help create a plan focused on building the brain connections needed to help create improvements for the individual.

Is there any research behind the program?

Is there any research behind the program?

Harvard University’s McLean Hospital completed a study which demonstrated that the Brain Balance Program is as effective as stimulant medication in alleviating ADHD symptoms among children. Cambridge Brain Sciences also collaborated with Brain Balance on a study the results of which show that children who completed three months of the Brain Balance Program displayed significant improvements in cognition, particularly in areas of memory, reasoning, verbal ability, and concentration. Research published in the Journal of Mental Health and Clinical Psychology found that the Brain Balance Program is an effective, non-drug option for improving mental well-being, specifically in areas including overall happiness, emotional functioning, anxiety and social engagement.
