The Brain Balance Assessment
You've been looking for answers.
This is where you find them.
The Brain Balance Assessment is a comprehensive developmental evaluation using scientifically validated tools covering motor, sensory, cognitive, and behavioral domains. Your child will work through actual program activities while you meet the team. You leave with a clear picture of what's driving the struggles, and a roadmap forward, whether you enroll or not.
No obligation. Just clarity.
What Makes this Assessment Different
Most assessments look at one area. This one looks at all of them together.
Visual Motor
Eye tracking: accuracy, tracking, reading metrics, processing speed
Cognitive
Attention, memory, response inhibition, reaction time, processing speed
Rhythm & Timing
Coordination, focus, executive functioning and
Fine Motor
Speed and dexterity for coordination and sequencing
Developmental Reflexes
Eight primitive and postural reflexes that should be integrated by age one
Sensory & Motor
Balance, strength, vestibular function, gross motor skills, sensory processing

Brain Balance
You'll walk away with a picture of your child that no one has ever given you. We look at how the eyes move, how the brain processes and how the body times and coordinates, all at the same time.
This is Not A Test. It's a Developmental Snapshot.
The assessment isn't looking for what your child can't do. It's looking for what the brain needs to do better. There are no wrong answers, no grades, no judgment.
What we're measuring is developmental, where your child's brain is in its development relative to where it should be. That gap is what we work on.

What Happens at the Assessment
The assessment takes about 2 hours. Most families tell us it was the most thorough thing anyone has ever done for their child.
Your Story First.
We start with an intake conversation, not a questionnaire you fill out alone. A trained staff member walks through what life actually looks like for your family: the challenges, the history, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping for.
WHY IT MATTERS
This isn't intake paperwork. It's where we start understanding the pattern.
The Comprehensive Assessment
The assessment is a series of activities — sensory, motor, cognitive, and academic — that measure how the brain is processing and integrating information across six functional domains. None of it feels like a test. It's engaging and sometimes even fun!
WHAT WE MEASURE
Balance, coordination, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, attention, processing speed, working memory, and academic skills, and how they all connect.
Your Results Explained
You sit down with a Brain Balance specialist who walks through the results with you in plain language, not jargon. You'll see where your child's brain development is, what the gaps are, and why the struggles you've been seeing are actually connected.
NO GUESSWORK
You leave with a clear, specific picture of what's happening and what it would take to address it. If Brain Balance is the right fit, we'll tell you. If it isn't, we'll say that too.
Your Personalized Plan
If Brain Balance is right for you, your assessment results become the foundation of a program designed specifically around your brain's profile.
YOUR BASELINE
We measure again at the end of the program using the same tools. That's how we document progress and how you know whether it worked.
Things You're Probably Wondering
Does my child need a diagnosis to be assessed?
No. Many families who come to us have a diagnosis — ADHD, autism spectrum, dyslexia, or anxiety. Many don't. The assessment doesn't require or produce a diagnosis. It measures functional development, which exists on a spectrum regardless of whether there's a label attached to it.
Do I have to enroll in the program if I book an assessment?
No. The assessment is a separate step with no obligation to move forward. Some families come in, get the results, and take time to decide. Some use the assessment to better inform conversations with other providers. We'd rather you make the right decision than the fast one.
What ages do you assess?
Brain Balance serves kids above the age of 4 as well as teens and adults. The assessment is adapted to be developmentally appropriate for the age of your child. Your local center can confirm what's available near you.
Who should attend the assessment?
Both parents or guardians should attend the assessment if at all possible. We cover a lot of ground: your child's developmental profile, what's driving the struggles you've been seeing, and what a path forward could look like. That's not a conversation one parent should have to relay to another. Come together, hear it together, process it together.
What if my child is anxious about being tested or evaluated?
This comes up a lot, especially for kids who've had difficult experiences with testing at school. The activities don't feel like a test. There are no wrong answers, no time pressure on cognitive tasks where that would add stress, and our staff are experienced at working with kids who are reluctant or anxious. Most kids warm up quickly (some even think it's fun). If yours doesn't, we work with that too.
