Brain Balance Center of The Woodlands

Build a better future for your child

The Brain Balance Program®

Backed by research and based on 20 years of neuroscience advancement, Brain Balance takes a completely different, drug-free approach to helping children with developmental challenges by addressing the root cause, instead of masking symptoms. The root cause? Simply put, one part of the brain is not speaking to another part of the brain as well as it could. But the brain can be strengthened, after all. Brain Balance can help your child build and improve its connections, driving profound results.

Research Shows Brain Balance is Effective

Harvard University’s McLean Hospital completed a study which demonstrated that the Brain Balance Program is as effective as stimulant medication in alleviating ADHD symptoms among children. Cambridge Brain Sciences also collaborated with Brain Balance on a study the results of which show that children who completed three months of the Brain Balance Program displayed significant improvements in cognition, particularly in areas of memory, reasoning, verbal ability, and concentration.

About the Brain Balance Program®

The Brain Balance Program offers a comprehensive, drug-free option that goes beyond the more traditional, mainstream approaches you may have tried. It addresses the root of your child’s challenges, instead of masking them.

How does it work?

Neuroplasticity which is the brain’s ability to change and reorganize itself, developing new connections and pruning away weak ones. The program is designed to work the brain like an athlete works their body, strengthening neural connections between different regions of the brain to improve cognitive skills and executive function. When these skills and functions improve, a child may be more confident and better equipped to engage and thrive in the world around them.

Components of the Brain Balance Program

A Whole-Brain Approach
The program activates many regions of the brain all at once through sensory engagement, physical development and academic learning activities, to strengthen and build the pathways across different regions of the brain.

Heather Wells, Center Owner

Heather has been working with children, teens, and adults experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, learning, sensorimotor, and other issues for nearly 30 years. She completed her graduate work at TWU and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and her resume’ spans hospitals, outpatient clinics, schools, and Early Childhood Intervention. She has obtained certifications and advanced training in treatments for multiple neurodevelopmental challenges, including her designation as a Board Certified Cognitive Specialist. Heather shares her expertise regularly by conducting seminars for educational and medical professionals and nonprofits from across the country and was a presenter at the 2018 National Autism Summit.  She also contributes expert advice in magazine articles, podcasts, and her Facebook Live episodes twice a week.

Heather delivers a personal perspective as well because she faced nearly invisible struggles as a child. Additionally, she was a mom to boys with neurobehavioral differences. Helping students and families dealing with these difficulties is her calling. She works diligently to empower everyone to thrive in their version of the highest quality of life possible.  To that end, she authored a soon-to-be-released book entitled The Hidden Churn, with all proceeds generating scholarships for families in need.

Heather has always been passionate about getting to the root causes of issues and addressing them at the foundation rather than merely bandaging symptoms. That, along with our holistic, integrated approach, is what led her to Brain Balance, where she serves on the National Advisory Board. She is also a mentor and trainer for professionals around the country. Her compassion, insights, perceptiveness, neurological background, and empathy combine to help transform the lives of the children and families we are privileged to serve. To learn more about Heather’s inspirational story and what Brain Balance is all about, please see the feature done on her and our program here.
