The Brain Balance Program is made up of physical and sensorimotor exercises, academic skills training and healthy nutrition. It is tailored to the needs of your child, and delivered in a uniquely systematic approach that you'll be hard pressed to find anywhere else.

The program engages the brain and body together, through sensory engagement, physical development and academic learning activities.

Personalized to Your Child’s Challenges

The program is tailored to your child’s needs and development level, delivered with the frequency and duration needed to drive meaningful change.

1:1 Coaching & Support

Our coaches will personally guide you through the program, including evaluating progress and leveling up as your child advances.

1:1 Nutrition Sessions

A Nutrition Coach will help customize a healthy nutrition plan fit for your child's lifestyle and needs.

On-Demand Resources

You’ll have access to a Program Portal where you can view on demand helper videos, nutrition content, and program resources.

Program Format

Your child can work onsite at your local Brain Balance Center with our coaches three times per week. A program specialist can help you learn more about the program options and understand how Brain Balance can help your child.

Amanda Petter

Executive Director

Amanda A. Petter, MS. initiated her academic journey at Tarleton State University, where she successfully pursued both her Undergraduate and Master's degree studies. Holding a bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management and a Masters degree in Leadership and Management, her educational background is robust and versatile.Throughout her time at Tarleton State, her initial aspirations to work with children as a teacher, coach, or counselor gradually evolved and solidified. Engaging with children through her involvement in collegiate volleyball and various activities such as the Special Olympics, as well as athletic and academic camps, Amanda discovered her deep-seated passion for mentorship and making a positive impact on young lives. Upon reflection and introspection after a year of working with children, Amanda's ambitions expanded beyond mere mentorship; she aspired to effect substantial change in the lives of children and families. Since 2013, Amanda has been instrumental in positively influencing and assisting thousands of children through her dedicated work at Brain Balance. She is also a Board Certified Cognitive Specialist.

Program Director

Luisa graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The University of Texas at San Antonio and is currently seeking her Master’s Degree in Industrial Psychology. Luisa joined Brain Balance to get a better understanding of different approaches on how the brain works for the betterment of changing family lives. She is our Program Director as well as a Certified Cognitive Coach. She enjoys helping the families navigate through the Program and providing whatever assistance they may need. In her free time, she likes to go to the gym, read and hang out with her two dogs: Max and Leo.

Alyssa

Assistant Director

Alyssa joined the Brain Balance team in March 2022 working as a receptionist. During her time with us, she has become our assistant director as well as a certified cognitive coach! She has enjoyed watching how much our team makes a difference in each child’s progress. Outside work, she spends most of her free time with her 9-year-old daughter.

Megan

Admin Assistant

Megan earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Psychology with a concentration in Child and Adolescent Development. She plans to continue her academic journey by earning a Ph.D. in the future. Megan has experience working in school settings, including specialized Apple Unit programs that support children on the autism spectrum. Her experiences have shaped and strengthened her understanding of neurodiversity and her passion for helping children develop social, emotional, and cognitive skills through individualized support. A strong advocate for mental health and holistic wellness, Megan is passionate about helping others reach their full potential through understanding, empathy, and empowerment. She has been involved with the South Texas Down Syndrome Association and continues to support her community through advocacy and education. Outside of work, Megan enjoys journaling, yoga, meditation, and staying active through fitness and nutrition. She finds joy in spending time with her family and friends and cherishes quiet moments with her Yorkshire Terrier.

Joseph graduated from Abilene Christian University with a Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. His goal is to become a Speech Language Pathology Assistant. In Joseph’s free time, he likes to watch sports, go to the river, and hang out with friends. Joseph’s favorite part of Brain Balance is being able to spread positivity.

Head Coach

Brisa is currently pursuing a degree in Biology and plans to further her studies in the future by planning on becoming a registered dietitian. She has always had a love for running, hence to why she is passionate about helping others with nutrition. She enjoys being a part of the Brain Balance team and being able to see the growth and confidence that comes with the students in this environment, because it is such an incredible, rewarding experience. Outside of work, Brisa enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending quality time with family, friends, and her three dogs: Willow, Miles, and Oakley.

Tristan

Coach

Tristan is currently a graduate student at UTSA pursuing a master’s degree in Information Technology concentration in Cybersecurity. Tristan comes from a background in coaching fellow teammates and has adapted those skills and passion into helping kids develop their fundamental skills. He can connect with the kids and talk about topics they are interested in to build their social skills and keep them wanting to come back. After hours, Tristan spends time learning Japanese culture and language, as well as developing a home lab for cybersecurity practices.

Hailey

Certified Cognitive Coach

Hailey is a senior at Texas State University and is working towards a bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences. Her goal is to become a diagnostician in an elementary school. She loves working with kids, as she spends lots of time with her three younger siblings, as well as volunteering with her church’s youth group. Her favorite part of Brain Balance is watching the children progress and seeing the positive changes they experience. Hailey enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, and traveling.

Marianna

Program Coach

Marianna earned her B.S. in Biology from Texas State University and is currently preparing to apply to medical school to become a pediatric oncologist. She joined the Brain Balance San Antonio team to use her knowledge of neuroscience and child development in helping students strengthen their motor coordination, sensory processing, and confidence. Marianna is passionate about supporting children’s growth both physically and cognitively. Outside of work, she dedicates her time to medical volunteer projects, clinical shadowing, and community health initiatives that continue to prepare her for a future in medicine.

Sensory Motor Coach

Jessica is a recent graduate of Texas A&M University, where she earned her degree in Kinesiology and Psychology. Driven by a passion for helping others and making a meaningful impact, she enjoys applying her knowledge to support students as they push their limits and grow. Watching their progress and development has been one of the most rewarding parts of being a coach. Outside of Brain Balance, Jessica enjoys running and exploring different trails, spending time with friends and family, and trying new restaurants.
