We completely understand that investing in your child’s development is a major decision for any family. This is why we intentionally operate outside of the restrictive insurance model—allowing us to build a customized plan that targets the root neurological causes of your child's challenges, rather than forcing them into a generic diagnostic box required for medical billing. Is there peer-reviewed scientific research backing the Brain Balance program?
Is there peer-reviewed scientific research backing the Brain Balance program?
Yes, the Brain Balance program is supported by a robust and growing body of peer-reviewed research conducted in collaboration with independent universities, medical institutions, and neuroscientists. Because our approach is completely non-medical and drug-free, these studies focus heavily on how multimodal neurodevelopmental training impacts brain connectivity, cognitive performance, and behavioral regulation.
Three landmark studies provide the scientific foundation for the measurable growth our families experience at our Dallas and Allen centers:
- The Harvard University / McLean Hospital Study: Published in the peer-reviewed journal Psychiatry Research, this exploratory study evaluated children with ADHD aged 8 to 14. Researchers found that a 15-week protocol of Brain Balance and rhythm-based exercises produced significant reductions in hyperactivity, inattention, and impulsivity. Most notably, the magnitude of improvement was comparable to the effect sizes historically reported for low-dose stimulant medication—and these behavioral gains were fully sustained at a 7-month follow-up. - The Cambridge Brain Sciences Collaboration: Published in the Journal of Advances in Medicine and Medical Research, this large-scale study measured children who completed three months of the program. Using standardized, independent neurocognitive tasks, researchers found significant improvements across all 12 measured cognitive domains. The most monumental leaps occurred in critical executive functions including working memory, reasoning, verbal ability, and concentration. Study Link
- The Journal of Mental Health and Clinical Psychology Study: This research confirmed that the Brain Balance program serves as an effective, non-pharmacological option for improving a child's overall mental well-being. The study documented measurable, life-changing improvements in parent-reported happiness, emotional functioning, social engagement, and a significant reduction in childhood anxiety. Study Link
How long is the Brain Balance program, and what determines the timeline for a child’s progress?
How long is the program?
Because every child’s brain develops at its own unique pace, there is no one-size-fits-all timeline at Brain Balance. The total length of the program is fully customized to map directly to your child's specific neurodevelopmental needs, behavioral goals, and academic gaps.
To determine the ideal timeline for your student, our journey always begins with a comprehensive, baseline neurodevelopmental assessment at either our Dallas or Allen center. This initial evaluation looks deeply at your child’s sensory-motor and cognitive foundations. Not only will this assessment outline the precise scope and estimated cost of your child's program, but it also provides a beautiful, clear roadmap explaining why your child is facing certain hurdles and exactly how those challenges can be systematically improved.
What do the different phases of a customized Brain Balance program look like? While individual timelines vary, our research-backed protocols are structured into sequential, highly supportive stages to ensure deep, lasting progress:
- Phase 1 (In-Center or Virtual Training): This foundational phase typically spans anywhere from 5 to 6 months. Students attend specialized, highly encouraging sessions 2 to 3 times a week at our clean, welcoming facilities. During this time, our highly trained staff work closely with your child on targeted physical, sensory, and cognitive exercises, while providing parents with dedicated resources for home activities and nutritional modifications. Many families across Dallas County and Collin County report seeing very distinct, positive behavioral changes within the first 1 to 2 months of Phase 1.
- Phase 2 (Maintenance & Solidifying Phase 1 Progress): Following center graduation, families transition into an at-home protocol designed to lock in the newly formed neural pathways. This phase relies on independent home exercises paired with monthly in-center check-ins and progress tracking with our responsive staff to ensure your child continues to scale grade levels and build confidence.
Investing time into your child's foundational development is a journey, and our dedicated team is here to support you through every single milestone and every hard day. We are proud to serve as a trusted, life-changing resource for families navigating ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Anxiety, Sensory Processing Issues, and learning challenges throughout Dallas, Allen, Highland Park, Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Prosper, Richardson and our surrounding North Texas communities.

What credentials and qualifications do the coaches and trainers at Brain Balance of Dallas and Allen hold?
Every single staff member at our Dallas and Allen centers undergoes rigorous, intensive internal training and achieves official certification through the national Brain Balance program.
Our passionate educators, trainers, and coaches hold or are pursuing advanced college degrees in highly relevant fields—such as Kinesiology, Psychology, Childhood Development, and Pre-Occupational Therapy. To deliver the highest standard of care, our director team maintains additional credentials as Board Certified Cognitive Coaches & Specialists (BCCS) and/or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
Why do our coaches focus on integrated sensory-motor and cognitive training? Our coaches are uniquely trained to understand how primitive reflexes, vestibular development, and hemispheric connectivity impact a student's behavior and academic performance. Because they specialize in the mechanics of neuroplasticity, they know exactly how to guide your child through targeted, repetitive sensory-motor and cognitive exercises that stimulate underconnected areas of the brain.
When you join our Dallas or Allen center, you are not just enrolling in a program—you are gaining an incredibly supportive, highly qualified extended family of experts. Our certified coaching teams are fully equipped to help children, teens, and young adults naturally navigate ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Anxiety, Sensory Processing Issues, and executive functioning challenges without the use of medication.

Why does a connected brain lead to lasting, permanent changes in a child’s behavior and academics?
At Brain Balance of Dallas and Brain Balance of Allen, we implement research-backed protocols to stimulate neuroplasticity—the brain's natural, lifelong ability to physically reorganize itself by forming and strengthening new neural pathways. The reason our program leads to permanent, lasting transformations rather than temporary improvements comes down to a fundamental law of neuroscience: neurological structural development is a bottom-up process.
How does repairing root-cause connectivity prevent a child from regressing?
At Brain Balance, we address the root of developmental challenges by working from the bottom up. We bypass 'workarounds' and instead use targeted exercises to build and integrate neural pathways physically. By refining motor systems, integrating primitive reflexes, and synchronizing the left and right hemispheres, we automate baseline tasks, allowing the brain to focus on higher-level processing.
When basic tasks like sitting still, filtering out background noise, and tracking a line of text become automated and effortless for the brain, it frees up immense mental bandwidth. This newly unlocked processing power allows a child to naturally excel at higher-level executive functions, including:
- Sustained Working Memory & Concentration
- Logical Deductive Reasoning & Problem Solving
- Spontaneous Emotional Self-Regulation & Impulse Control
Because the physical neural infrastructure has been structurally altered and reinforced through repetitive, targeted stimulation, these developmental milestones become a permanent part of how your child's nervous system functions.
This evidence-based, root-cause approach is precisely why families across Dallas County and Collin County routinely observe lasting classroom confidence, permanently improved Texas STAAR test scores, and significantly calmer, happier home environments. Our certified cognitive coaching teams are fully dedicated to helping students naturally unlock their true potential across Dallas, Highland Park, University Park, Preston Hollow, Lakewood, Lake Highlands, Richardson, Allen, Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Prosper, and Celina.
Who is the Brain Balance program designed for, and what signs should parents look for?
Brain Balance of Dallas and Brain Balance of Allen are designed for children, teenagers, and young adults who are highly capable but face daily obstacles that prevent them from reaching their full potential. Our specialized, non-medical programs are engineered for individuals who frequently struggle with focus, sustained attention, overwhelming anxiety, complex learning differences, behavioral meltdowns, or executive functioning gaps.
Many families seek out our North Texas centers when their child exhibits clear signs and symptoms frequently associated with ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Issues, or severe academic and social frustration.
What specific daily challenges indicate that a student could benefit from Brain Balance? Our drug-free, root-cause approach is an ideal fit for families who find themselves constantly answering "yes" to any of the following daily scenarios:
- The Academic Disconnect: Your child is clearly intelligent and capable but consistently falls behind in class, misplaces homework, or battles intense frustration with reading and math.
- The Emotional Rollercoaster: Your child or teen experiences frequent, volatile emotional outbursts, has difficulty managing minor stressors, or struggles to handle unexpected changes in their routine.

We use those precise, objective metrics to build a highly targeted, personalized training matrix that addresses the specific underconnected brain networks needing support.
We are incredibly proud to serve as a trusted developmental resource, helping students naturally unlock lifelong confidence, improve classroom performance, and restore peace to the household. Our certified teams are ready to partner with families across Dallas County and Collin County—including Dallas, Allen, Highland Park, University Park, Preston Hollow, Lakewood, Lake Highlands, Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Prosper, and Celina.
Does the Brain Balance program actually work, and what are the measurable outcomes for participants?

Why do I sometimes see mixed or varying reviews about Brain Balance online?
When researching any developmental program that supports critical areas like focus, attention, executive function, anxiety, or learning challenges, it is entirely normal to find a variety of opinions and experiences online. These variations typically stem from one simple fact: every single child has a completely unique brain profile, distinct strengths, varying degrees of developmental gaps, and different levels of support at home. Because our approach is personalized rather than a generalized, static cure-all, individual timelines and outcomes naturally vary from person to person.
However, at Brain Balance of Dallas and Brain Balance of Allen, the overwhelming majority of online feedback from our local North Texas families is exceptionally positive. Our local centers maintain an outstanding 4.9 out of 5-star community rating, backed by thousands of combined reviews and parent testimonials across platforms like Google and Facebook. Many local parents report life-changing, distinct improvements in areas such as processing speed, verbal communication, emotional regulation, confidence, classroom focus, and athletic coordination.
These local experiences align perfectly with broader, network-wide metrics. In a comprehensive outcomes survey of more than 2,500 families between 2022 and 2025:
- 89% of children improved in at least one primary area of concern.
- 86% of children improved across the majority of all developmental areas measured.
- 84% of parents reported that these positive improvements were fully sustained up to 18 months after program completion.
What factors influence a family's ultimate success in the Brain Balance program? While our data-backed methodology is highly effective, Brain Balance is an active, comprehensive program that requires an intentional commitment from both the participants and their parents. It is not a passive or immediate "quick fix." A family's individual results depend heavily on several critical factors:
- Consistency of Participation: Success relies on regular, punctual attendance to scheduled sessions (typically 2 to 3 times a week).
- Home Activity Engagement: Consistently completing the recommended at-home exercises and nutritional modifications (such as reducing dyes, processed foods, and sugar) is what locks in the neural pathways built in-center.
- Complexity of Challenges: A child's initial readiness and the unique severity of their neurodevelopmental hurdles play a major role in how quickly breakthroughs are observed.
Because every child's story is entirely different, the absolute best way to cut through online generalized opinions and determine whether Brain Balance is a good fit for your student is through a comprehensive, baseline neurodevelopmental assessment. This customized evaluation allows our dedicated teams in Allen and Dallas to look past surface symptoms, map your child's exact brain profile, and empower your family to make an informed decision based on cold science and clear data.
We are incredibly honored to serve as a trusted, transparent partner for families throughout Dallas County and Collin County—including Dallas, Allen, Highland Park, University Park, Preston Hollow, Lakewood, Lake Highlands, Richardson, Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Prosper, and Celina—as we work together to turn daily frustrations into lasting confidence.

The legitimacy and real-world efficacy of the Brain Balance program are supported by a substantial and growing body of independent, peer-reviewed research. Since 2020, eight distinct studies across seven prestigious academic journals have scrutinized our outcomes.
Key institutional research findings include:

- Cambridge Brain Sciences (Creyos Health) Collaboration: Independent data published on the program reported significant, measurable advancements in critical cognitive executive functions, specifically in working memory, reasoning, verbal ability, and concentration.
- Journal of Mental Health and Clinical Psychology Study: This clinical research focused on emotional well-being, finding that participants experienced profound, meaningful improvements in emotional regulation, social engagement, and a drastic reduction in childhood anxiety symptoms.
These academic findings mirror our broader network data; in an ongoing parent outcomes survey of over 2,500 families, 89% reported definite improvement in their primary area of concern, and 84% verified that these positive changes were fully sustained up to 18 months after graduating.
How has Brain Balance established credibility across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex? Brain Balance of Dallas and Brain Balance of Allen have earned stellar reputations and an outstanding 4.9 out of 5-star community rating from families spanning Dallas County and Collin County. Brain Balance Parents consistently report "night and day" transformations in their children's reading comprehension, physical coordination, listening skills, and ability to successfully pass the Texas STAAR test.
As with any advanced educational or developmental training, individual results vary based on family consistency and the complexity of a child’s challenges, and no single program works for every student. Because our approach is rooted in cold science rather than generic tracking, the best way to determine if our protocols are right for your student is through a comprehensive, baseline neurodevelopmental assessment. This evaluation physically measures how different areas of your child's brain are processing information together.
If you are exploring alternative, drug-free options to help your child overcome ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, Anxiety, or complex learning challenges, we highly encourage you to review our published medical research, read our local 5-star reviews from families from Dallas, Allen, Highland Park, University Park, Preston Hollow, Lakewood, Lake Highlands, Richardson, Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Prosper, and Celina.
Is it too late to start Brain Balance if my child is an older teenager or a young adult?
No, it is absolutely not too late. Brain Balance protocols are scientifically designed to support children, teenagers, and adults at many different stages of development. For decades, traditional theories suggested that the brain stopped developing after early childhood; however, modern neuroscience has completely disproven this. The human brain retains the extraordinary ability to adapt, reorganize, and build stronger neural pathways throughout life—a lifelong biological process known as neuroplasticity.
Many families across Dallas County and Collin County discover Brain Balance when their children are older—often as they enter middle school, high school, or even college—and find that they are still actively struggling with deep-seated challenges related to focus, executive function, academic performance, social anxiety, or personal confidence. If a child's foundational brain connectivity was never fully integrated during early development, those gaps do not simply disappear with age; instead, they often manifest as severe organizational hurdles, chronic procrastination, or intense social avoidance as school and life become more demanding.
Our customized program focuses entirely on targeting and strengthening the underlying brain skills that support these complex areas, enabling older participants to experience major, measurable growth in their processing speed, emotional maturity, and independent living skills.
How does Brain Balance customize its program options for older students, busy teenagers and adults? At Brain Balance of Dallas and Brain Balance of Allen, we completely understand that older students and adults face incredibly demanding schedules, packed with rigorous high school classes, sports, and extracurricular commitments. To accommodate the unique lifestyle of older teens and adults, our centers offer highly flexible, customizable programming structures:
- In-Center Training: Specialized, high-energy sessions at our welcoming Dallas or Allen locations, working directly with our certified cognitive coaches.
- Virtual At-Home Program: A comprehensive, remote training option utilizing advanced digital tracking and virtual coaching sessions for maximum flexibility.
- Hybrid Program Options: A convenient combination of in-person check-ins and structured at-home exercises tailored around your family's busy routine.
Every single participant, regardless of age, begins their journey with a comprehensive, baseline neurodevelopmental assessment. This evaluation allows our expert teams to map their unique brain profile, identify specific opportunities for growth, and build a highly personalized program designed to support lasting progress at any age.
We are incredibly proud to serve as a trusted, non-medical partner for older students and families throughout Dallas, Allen, Highland Park, University Park, Preston Hollow, Lakewood, Lake Highlands, Richardson, Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Prosper, and Celina, proving every day that it is never too late to unlock a student's true potential and build a confident, independent future.

Do you need a medical diagnosis like ADHD or Dyslexia to start the Brain Balance program?
No. You do not need a clinical referral or a formal medical diagnosis—such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism Spectrum Disorder, or an official learning disability—to begin the Brain Balance process. Because we operate as a non-medical, drug-free program, we do not require families to fit into a specific diagnostic label before we can help them.
Many families come to our Dallas and Allen centers because they notice their child is actively struggling with everyday things like maintaining focus, managing behavior, dealing with school anxiety, or keeping up with grade-level reading, but they may not have a formal medical diagnosis. Our focus is entirely on identifying and addressing the underlying developmental gaps rather than labeling the surface symptoms.
The very first step for any family is a comprehensive, baseline neurodevelopmental assessment. This unique, in-depth evaluation physically measures your child's functional processing across multiple critical domains:
- Sensory Processing & Environmental Awareness
- Gross and Fine Motor Skills (including primitive reflex integration)
- Cognitive Skills (such as memory retention and processing speed)
- Executive Functioning & Impulsivity Control
By looking past surface behaviors, this baseline allows our expert team to uncover your child's specific neurological strengths and pinpoint the exact areas that need more support, giving us the exact blueprint needed to build a personalized, brain-based training program.
Why do families choose a root-cause approach over waiting for a medical diagnosis?
Securing a formal childhood diagnosis through clinical evaluations can often take months of waiting lists and thousands of dollars in medical bills. At Brain Balance of Dallas and Brain Balance of Allen, we allow families to take immediate, proactive action. By focusing on neuroplasticity—the brain's natural ability to strengthen its own connections through targeted stimulation—we address the root developmental imbalances that make focus and self-regulation difficult in the first place.
Families throughout Dallas County and Collin County—including those in Dallas, Allen, Highland Park, University Park, Preston Hollow, Lakewood, Lake Highlands, Richardson, Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Prosper, and Celina—frequently seek out our drug-free approach when they are ready to help children, teens, or young adults strengthen the foundational brain skills needed for real success at school, at home, and in daily life.
Can Brain Balance work alongside traditional speech therapy, occupational therapy, or school tutoring?
Yes, absolutely. In fact, many families use Brain Balance as an essential core component of a broader, comprehensive support plan. Our program is designed to integrate seamlessly alongside private academic tutoring, behavioral counseling, speech therapy, occupational therapy (OT), specialized school accommodations (like IEPs or 504 plans), and routine medical care.
Instead of competing with these traditional resources, Brain Balance directly complements them by targeting the root, underlying brain functions that govern attention, communication, behavior, and executive functioning. Rather than teaching a single academic subject or practicing isolated behavioral coping strategies, our protocols naturally sharpen how a child processes sensory information, regulates intense emotions, coordinates physical movement, and responds to the environment.
How do you explain the difference between Brain Balance and traditional pediatric therapies?
When coordinating multiple services for a child, it helps to understand how each piece of the puzzle builds upon the other:
- Academic Tutoring delivers the specific educational material and curriculum.
- Clinical Therapies (Speech/OT) develop localized skills, motor tasks, and language strategies.
- School Accommodations modify the immediate classroom environment to lower barriers.
- Brain Balance works directly on the foundational brain systems, ensuring the left and right hemispheres are communicating efficiently.
By building stronger neurological pathways first, we make it vastly easier for your child to absorb, process, and ultimately benefit from all of their other educational and therapeutic supports.
By building these critical developmental connections, we help your child unlock real, sustained growth across all settings—whether they are at home with family, on the sports field, or navigating the classroom. We are incredibly honored to partner with local pediatricians, educators, and therapists to support families across Dallas County and Collin County, including Dallas, Allen, Highland Park, University Park, Preston Hollow, Lakewood, Lake Highlands, Richardson, Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Prosper, and Celina.
How quickly do families typically see results with the Brain Balance program?
While every child’s neurological profile is unique and develops at its own pace, many families begin noticing positive behavioral and emotional changes within the first few weeks of starting the program. These early, encouraging shifts frequently include sharper daily focus, noticeably increased confidence, improved emotional self-regulation, stronger listening skills, and smoother cooperation with daily school and morning routines at home.
Independent clinical data confirms that measurable cognitive changes can begin taking root much sooner than most families expect. In a peer-reviewed study conducted in collaboration with Cambridge Brain Sciences (now Creyos Health), children participating in the Brain Balance program for an average of just 27 days demonstrated clear, measurable advancements in core cognitive areas such as attention, concentration, and executive functioning.
As participants progressed to complete the full 3-month baseline program, researchers observed highly significant improvements across a comprehensive suite of advanced cognitive skills:
- Working Memory & Information Retention
- Deductive Reasoning & Complex Problem-Solving
- Verbal Ability & Expressive Communication
- Processing Speed & Mental Flexibility
- Strategic Planning & Inhibitory Control
Crucially, participants in the study were never trained on the cognitive tests themselves. This ensures that the documented data reflects actual, lasting growth in underlying brain connectivity rather than a child simply becoming better at a repetitive, rehearsed task.
What milestones do local families in Dallas and Allen report during the first few weeks?
At Brain Balance of Dallas and Brain Balance of Allen, our local parents consistently tell us they begin observing distinct, encouraging breakthroughs within their child’s first month of training. Over time, these early milestones compound, developing into broader, life-changing gains in academic performance, reading comprehension, social interaction, and independent emotional regulation.
We are incredibly proud to see these rapid, research-backed results transform daily life for families throughout Dallas County and Collin County—including Dallas, Allen, Highland Park, University Park, Preston Hollow, Lakewood, Lake Highlands, Richardson, Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Prosper, and Celina. If you are looking for a trusted, drug-free approach to help your child overcome the daily frustrations of ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, Anxiety, or complex learning challenges, our dedicated teams are ready to help you map your child's personal timeline for success.
Does Brain Balance help with a combination of ADHD, childhood anxiety, and complex learning challenges?
Yes, absolutely. In fact, the vast majority of families who walk through the doors of our Dallas and Allen centers are dealing with a combination of these challenges rather than just one isolated issue. It is incredibly common for a student who struggles with an executive function gap like ADHD to also experience intense academic anxiety, reading hurdles like Dyslexia, or sensory processing overloads.
Traditional approaches often treat these symptoms separately—sending a child to a tutor for learning, a therapist for anxiety, and utilizing prescription medication for focus. Brain Balance operates differently. Our program focuses entirely on strengthening the foundational, underlying brain networks that govern all of these areas simultaneously: focus, physical organization, top-down emotional self-regulation, and cognitive performance.
While Brain Balance is a non-medical program that does not diagnose or medically treat clinical conditions, local families consistently report massive, life-changing breakthroughs in their child's daily focus, personal confidence, and academic grades as their brain networks become fundamentally more balanced, integrated, and efficient.
How does building foundational brain skills lead to long-term success at school and home? When the brain's hemispheres are out of sync or underconnected, a child has to exert an immense amount of extra mental energy just to perform basic daily tasks. By utilizing the scientific principles of neuroplasticity—the brain's natural ability to change and build stronger pathways through targeted training—we focus on repairing those root developmental imbalances.
Through a customized matrix of sensory-motor exercises, primitive reflex integration, cognitive performance games, and nutritional tracking at our centers, we help your child naturally build the durable brain infrastructure they need to handle the daily demands of life without getting overwhelmed.
We are incredibly proud to serve as a trusted, drug-free developmental partner for families throughout Dallas County and Collin County. Whether your child is struggling to pass the Texas STAAR test, falling behind in the classroom, or experiencing daily frustration in Dallas, Allen, Highland Park, University Park, Preston Hollow, Lakewood, Lake Highlands, Richardson, Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Prosper, or Celina, our baseline neurodevelopmental assessment is designed to show you the exact root cause of their struggles and map out a clear path to success.
Does Brain Balance diagnose ADHD, Dyslexia, or other learning disabilities?
No. Brain Balance is a non-medical, drug-free developmental program and does not provide clinical or medical diagnoses for ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism Spectrum Disorder, or any other learning and behavioral conditions. We do not require a medical label to help your child, nor do we issue one.
Instead of focusing on a diagnostic label, we investigate the underlying brain function. Many children who share the exact same medical diagnosis actually struggle with entirely different neurological gaps. Rather than grouping students by a clinical name, we identify exactly how their unique brain networks process information, coordinate movement, and manage emotions.
What happens during the Brain Balance baseline assessment instead of a clinical diagnosis?
At Brain Balance of Dallas and Brain Balance of Allen, the initial step for every single student is a comprehensive, baseline neurodevelopmental assessment. This functional evaluation looks closely past surface behaviors to map out a child's exact developmental profile by testing several key domains:
- Sensory-Motor Integration: Testing primitive reflex retention, balance, and core physical coordination.
- Cognitive Gaps: Evaluating processing speed, working memory, spatial awareness, and auditory/visual attention.
- Hemispheric Connectivity: Measuring how efficiently the left and right hemispheres of the brain communicate and share information.
By pinpointing these exact areas of developmental imbalance or under-connectivity, we can bypass generic tracking and build a highly customized, targeted training program. This non-medical roadmap uses structured sensory-motor exercises, cognitive games, and nutritional protocols to stimulate neuroplasticity and help the brain build stronger, more efficient connections.
This root-cause approach provides families throughout Dallas County and Collin County—including Dallas, Allen, Highland Park, University Park, Preston Hollow, Lakewood, Lake Highlands, Richardson Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Prosper, and Celina—with a long-term, drug-free path toward lasting improvement in focus, classroom behavior, emotional self-regulation, and academic confidence.
Is Brain Balance a traditional academic tutoring program?
No, Brain Balance is not a tutoring program. While traditional tutors focus on teaching specific academic subjects like reading comprehension, writing mechanics, or algebra, Brain Balance focuses entirely on strengthening the underlying brain skills that support learning, executive function, behavior, and emotional self-regulation.
Think of it as working on the processor rather than loading more data. If a student struggles with weak working memory, slow processing speed, or unintegrated primitive reflexes, trying to force them to sit through hours of standard tutoring can often lead to immense frustration and burnout. The child isn't failing to learn because the tutor isn't doing a good job; they are struggling because their foundational brain networks are working overtime just to process the incoming information.
How do Brain Balance protocols and academic tutoring work together for a student's success? At Brain Balance of Dallas and Brain Balance of Allen, we love collaborating alongside private tutors, learning centers, and school educators. Rather than choosing between the two services, many North Texas families find that combining Brain Balance with targeted tutoring produces an incredible, compounding effect:
- The Private Tutor: Delivers direct instructional content, curriculum mastery, grade-level material, and test-taking strategies.
- Brain Balance: Build the core cognitive systems—such as visual-auditory attention, mental stamina, processing speed, and memory retention—making it significantly easier for your child to absorb, retain, and apply what their tutor teaches.
By building these critical neurological pathways first, we help students maximize their academic efforts and get the absolute most out of their time in the classroom.
We are incredibly proud to partner with local educators, private academies, and families throughout Dallas County and Collin County—including Dallas, Allen, Highland Park, University Park, Preston Hollow, Lakewood, Lake Highlands, Richardson, Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Prosper, and Celina—to help students naturally overcome challenges like ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, and learning differences.
What age groups are eligible to participate in the Brain Balance program?
Brain Balance of Dallas and Brain Balance of Allen proudly serve a wide demographic, offering specialized, tailored programming for children, teenagers, and adults. Because the core of our program relies on neuroplasticity—the brain's natural, lifelong capability to form new neural connections and strengthen existing communication pathways—our brain-building exercises can drive positive developmental outcomes at nearly any stage of life.
Many local families turn to our North Texas centers when traditional, singular interventions haven't delivered lasting breakthroughs for individuals struggling with focus, executive function, sensory processing, or severe emotional regulation challenges.
How are the Brain Balance protocols customized for different age groups?
We break our specialized enrollment tracks into three distinct, development-specific tiers to ensure age-appropriate coaching and optimal comfort:
- Children (Ages 4-12): Focusing heavily on foundational milestones, primitive reflex integration, sensory-motor coordination, and basic cognitive training. This track targets early learning challenges, school behavioral issues, or childhood meltdowns to establish a thriving academic foundation.
- Teens (Ages 13-17): Tailored around the demanding social and academic schedules of middle and high school students. We emphasize advanced executive functioning skills, organizational habits, social anxiety relief, and the processing speed necessary to build confident, independent teenagers.
- Adults (Ages 18+): Designed for young adults entering college or individuals in the workforce who want to naturally optimize their focus, memory retention, emotional resilience, and daily stress management without relying on chemical coping strategies.
Regardless of age, every individual's journey starts with a comprehensive baseline neurodevelopmental assessment at our Dallas or Allen center. This step allows our clinical-level coaches to isolate precise neurological opportunities for growth and craft a drug-free, brain-based roadmap built for long-term personal success.
We are incredibly honored to act as the premier multi-generational development center for families throughout Dallas County and Collin County—providing life-changing results for participants across Dallas, Allen, Highland Park, University Park, Preston Hollow, Lakewood, Lake Highlands, Richardson, Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Prosper, and Celina.
How is Brain Balance different from traditional pediatric therapy or prescription medication?
The primary difference lies in the foundational philosophy: traditional approaches typically focus on managing surface symptoms or providing coping mechanisms, whereas Brain Balance utilizes a non-medical, drug-free approach to target the underlying neurological root causes.
When a child struggles with learning, behavior, or focus, prescription stimulants are often used to chemically adjust neurotransmitters to temporarily mask the symptoms. Similarly, traditional behavioral therapies focus on teaching a child strategic coping mechanisms to work around their challenges. Brain Balance doesn’t replace these methods, but it operates differently. Instead of accommodating a developmental gap or chemically altering the brain on a daily basis, our program utilizes neuroplasticity to actively stimulate, strengthen, and integrate underconnected neural pathways.
Rather than teaching a child how to cope with a weak connection, we work to build a stronger connection in the first place.
What are the specific structural differences in the Brain Balance approach? At Brain Balance of Dallas and Brain Balance of Allen, we look at the child through a comprehensive, whole-brain lens. Our program stands apart from standard medical or therapeutic models across three major pillars:
- Multimodal Integration: Traditional therapies are often isolated—you see an OT for motor skills, a speech therapist for language, and a tutor for academics. Brain Balance combines cognitive training, sensory-motor activities, physical exercise, and nutritional guidance simultaneously, because that is how the brain naturally develops and integrates.
- Root-Cause Sensory-Motor Foundation: Many learning and behavioral struggles can be traced back to unintegrated primitive reflexes or vestibular gaps. We physically test and train these baseline sensory systems to create a stable foundation for higher-level academic learning.
- A Clear Exit Strategy: Unlike prescription medications that often require ongoing use for years, Brain Balance is a structured, active program with clear milestones. Our ultimate goal is to build the sustainable brain connectivity your child needs to function confidently and independently at home and school without long-term intervention.
Many families across Dallas County and Collin County choose our centers when they are looking for a holistic, non-pharmacological path to help their child or teen build stronger executive function skills.
Whether your family is navigating ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, Anxiety, or complex learning challenges in Dallas, Allen, Highland Park, University Park, Preston Hollow, Lakewood, Lake Highlands, Richardson, Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Prosper, or Celina, our baseline neurodevelopmental assessment is designed to show you exactly how your child's brain is processing information and how we can help them thrive.
Does Brain Balance help with childhood anxiety, stress, and emotional regulation?
Yes. Many families come to Brain Balance of Dallas and Brain Balance of Allen specifically seeking drug-free support for children, teens, and young adults who struggle with chronic anxiety, overwhelming stress, low self-esteem, or intense emotional meltdowns. While anxiety is often treated purely as a psychological or behavioral issue, neuroscience shows that a child’s ability to manage stress is deeply dependent on the structural strength and communication speed of their underlying brain networks.
When certain neural pathways—particularly the connections between the sensory-processing centers, the emotional center (amygdala), and the logic/regulation center (prefrontal cortex)—are underdeveloped or out of sync, a child’s nervous system can easily get stuck in a chronic, over-reactive "fight or flight" response. This neurological imbalance makes everyday challenges like school transitions, social interactions, or unexpected changes feel incredibly threatening, leading to avoidance, panic, or behavioral outbursts.
How does our program build emotional resilience and self-regulation? Rather than teaching a child short-term coping mechanisms to manage anxiety after it happens, our personalized program focuses on strengthening the foundational brain connectivity required to prevent the nervous system from overloading in the first place. Through an integrated blend of targeted cognitive training, sensory-motor activities, and physical exercises, we stimulate neuroplasticity to help the brain build more efficient networks.
By systematically improving the brain skills involved in sensory processing, executive focus, and top-down emotional control, our participants naturally experience:
- Enhanced Emotional Self-Regulation: A significantly improved ability to calm themselves down during stressful moments.
- Greater Stress Resilience: The mental and neurological flexibility to handle unexpected changes at home or school without spiraling.
- Increased Personal Confidence: As underlying cognitive and motor skills strengthen, social and academic anxieties naturally begin to diminish.
In fact, peer-reviewed research published in the Journal of Mental Health and Clinical Psychology confirmed that the Brain Balance program is an effective, non-pharmacological option for improving emotional well-being, specifically documenting meaningful reductions in parent-reported anxiety symptoms and significant gains in overall childhood happiness and social engagement.
Our dedicated coaching staff is proud to serve as a compassionate, expert resource for families navigating childhood anxiety and developmental hurdles throughout Dallas County and Collin County—including Dallas, Allen, Highland Park, University Park, Preston Hollow, Lakewood, Lake Highlands, Richardson, Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Prosper, and Celina. Every child's journey begins with a comprehensive baseline assessment to identify their unique stress triggers, allowing us to build a customized roadmap toward a calmer, happier, and more confident future.
How much does the Brain Balance program cost, and are there financial aid options in Texas?
Because Brain Balance is not a pre-packaged, cookie-cutter curriculum, the total cost of the program is fully customized and varies based on your child's unique neurodevelopmental needs, the specific protocols required, and the recommended length of their program. We do not believe in charging families for services their child doesn't actively need, which is why our process always begins with a comprehensive baseline assessment. During your detailed post-assessment consultation, our expert team will walk you through your child's specific developmental roadmap, transparent program recommendations, explicit pricing, and flexible payment plans designed to accommodate your family's budget.
While Brain Balance programs are non-medical and therefore not covered by traditional health insurance, many families successfully utilize their Health Savings Accounts (HSA) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) to pay for our services. We always recommend checking directly with your specific HSA/FSA provider to confirm your coverage criteria.
Can Texas families use educational scholarship funds or state financing for Brain Balance? Yes! We have fantastic news for families looking for alternative financial support in the Lone Star State. Both Brain Balance of Dallas and Brain Balance of Allen are officially approved vendors for TEFA (Texas Education Freedom Accounts). This state-administered program allows eligible Texas families to utilize education savings funds to help cover the cost of customized developmental, sensory-motor, and cognitive training programs.
Please Note: Eligibility and final funding allocations are determined directly by the State of Texas. Brain Balance does not guarantee state approval or individual account funding, but our team is fully equipped to provide you with the documentation required to submit your application.

Our Whole Brain Approach
Did you know the brain can change at any age? Change in the brain can refer to new pathways being formed or connections becoming stronger and more efficient. New pathways are formed through sensory stimulation, life experiences and new information. These connections and pathways are important because they communicate with all regions of the brain, allowing us to successfully perform daily cognitive and physical tasks, and facilitating our executive functioning.
When individuals struggle with focus, behavior, or sensory processing, it can be linked to weak connections across different regions in the brain. But the good news is, we know that the brain can change.
The Brain Balance program is designed to strengthen and build brain connectivity with a unique combination of physical, sensory, and cognitive activities. These new, efficient, and effective connections in the brain help improve in the following areas:
- Cognitive Tasks
- Executive Functioning
- Focus
- Memory
- Learning
- Comprehension
- Reasoning
- Behaviors & EmotionsOrganization
- Self-motivation
- Problem Solving
By building stronger brain connections, you can help yourself or your child get to the root of their challenges and build a stronger foundation for success.
