Megan was having difficulty communicating and making friends in preschool.

Also, she had a significant speech delay and we could only understand about 25 percent of what she said. She was socially awkward with others her own age because they couldn’t understand her. When she got frustrated she would act out and be aggressive. It broke my heart when she would come to us and say, “why don’t I have friends?” We had tried counseling and speech therapy. I was exhausted from trying different avenues and spending money without getting anywhere.

A friend recommended Brain Balance. I went in and said if you’re going to stir up questions and give me a laundry list of what’s wrong with my child without telling me how we can help her, then I’m in the wrong place. Brain Balance was able to offer me the suggestions and solutions we were looking for. We were finally able to understand that there was hope. After the assessment results, I enrolled Megan the next day. Things started getting so much better for Megan. We started seeing huge changes in her. She wasn’t having accidents anymore and her behavior started to calm down. By the time we completed the program we understood 80 percent of what Megan said, and now she has no speech delay at all. I started getting phone calls from teachers saying, “I don’t know what you’re doing with Megan, but keep doing it.” She’s able to connect with her peers better and focus and sit during circle time. Megan gets invited to birthday parties now. Parents ask Megan for playdates. Megan’s life was significantly changed.

For the new school year, I did not mention that Megan had been to Brain Balance because the school does an evaluation to see if children need supplemental services. I called and asked if Megan had her assessment yet. They replied, “Oh, yes, she’s fine, she didn’t need anything. Megan’s no longer testing in the ADHD range.” Megan’s life completely changed in the span of 12 weeks. It was a 180-degree change for her.

Brain Balance students progress an average of 2.6 levels in 3 months for sensory motor exercises. On average, customers surveyed rated their satisfaction at 8.5 on a 10 point scale.
