Meet our Panel of Experts:

Amanda Gunter, M.Ed - Former Educator

At age 16, Amanda Gunter discovered her passion for working with children with disabilities, sparking her desire to help them achieve their full potential. She earned a degree in Special Education from the University of Georgia in 2004, focusing on Autism Spectrum and Behavioral Disorders. Subsequently, she obtained a Master’s Degree in Moderate Disabilities from Cambridge College in 2006. Amanda’s commitment to understanding neurology led her to complete over 150 hours of classes at the F. R. Carrick Institute of Ergonomics and pursue a PhD in Neuro-Psychology.

In 2007, Amanda’s career took a pivotal turn when she joined the Brain Balance Achievement Center, inspired by the remarkable transformations she witnessed among her students. She then developed a specialized Brain Balance program for teenagers at a therapeutic residential boarding school in 2012, focusing on adopted children and those who experienced trauma. Here, she delved into the connection between brain development and empathy.

Over the past decade, Amanda has collaborated with therapists, educators, and families in interdisciplinary settings, enriching her understanding of neurological interventions. Since 2015, she has served as the CEO of Brain Balance in Florida, Georgia, and Kentucky, while maintaining a small caseload to remain directly involved in her field. Amanda’s expertise has led her to become a national speaker, sharing insights on brain function, learning, attachment, and social-emotional development at various conferences.

Amanda’s lifelong passion is to facilitate healing and growth in children and teens through progressive and innovative neurological interventions, ensuring they reach their full potential.

Dr. Mark Goldenberg - Board Certified Chiropractic Neurologist

Dr. Mark Goldenberg is a Board Certified Chiropractic Neurologist and Board Certified Cognitive Specialist who specializes in the treatment of Learning Disabilities, Dyslexia, Attention Deficit Disorders, and Spectrum Disorders. Dr. Goldenberg is a Fellow of the American College of Functional Neurology with a sub-specialty in neurobehavioral disorders of childhood. His peer-reviewed paper entitled: "Hemispheric Integration Therapy and the Treatment of ADHD" has been published in the Journal of Functional Neurology Rehabilitation and Ergonomics. Dr. Goldenberg has been practicing in his field since 1985 after graduating from New York Chiropractic College. Dr. Goldenberg devotes all of his time to working with children and adults with attention and learning challenges. He is the owner and executive director of the Brain Balance Center of Norwalk, Connecticut since 2009.

Dr. Michelle Robertson - Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist

Dr. Michelle Robertson has spent her 25+ year professional career helping others improve their lives. A Texas native, Dr. Robertson moved to Wichita in 2003 to become a full-time faculty member in the Master of Science in Family Therapy (MSFT) program at Friends University, where she is now tenured.

When introduced to the Brain Balance program in 2014, she was impressed with how well it aligned with her own training, education, and experience, and worked to bring the program to Wichita. She was thrilled to expand her Brain Balance influence into both the Nashville and Minneapolis metro areas in the years following. Brain Balance has greatly enhanced her professional development, and she has even co-authored a study on the influence of the program on increased emotional functioning and anxiety reduction in children.

Dr. Robertson earned a doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy from The University of Louisiana at Monroe, a master’s degree from Abilene Christian University, and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Psychology from Midwestern State University. She practices as a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist (LCMFT #303) in Kansas and regularly delivers presentations and workshops on a variety of topics including parenting, relational health, ethical practice, and family dynamics. In addition to her private therapy practice, her work as a tenured professor, and her involvement with Brain Balance, Dr. Robertson is a member of the Wichita Junior League and a member of The American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. She and her husband have two children, both of whom have successfully completed the Brain Balance program.

Lynn Brittnacher - Former Educator

Lynn is the Executive Director of Brain Balance of Mequon and Fox Valley; she has her degree in Elementary/Middle School Education with minors in Adaptive Education and Social Studies from the University of Wisconsin Platteville. She also received her master's in School Counseling from Lakeland University. Her passion has always been working with children and supporting those who struggle with ASD, ADHD, EBD, and Learning Disorders. After 17 years of teaching, Lynn started looking for something that would get to the root of the problem, giving children the underlying skills they needed to be successful in all areas of life. After researching and learning about Brain Balance she knew it was the path she must take.

She jumped in with both feet, knowing it was the direction she needed to go. She has found immeasurable joy in helping kids make profound changes and watching families’ lives transform. The mission of her centers is to help as many children as possible grow to their God-given potential.
