Dominick Fedele, Chief Executive Officer
Dominick Fedele has extensive operational and executive experience leading widely disbursed multi-site businesses in education management and consumer services. Prior to joining Brain Balance, Mr. Fedele most recently served as Executive Vice President of Operations and Group President at Education Corporation of America (ECA), where he led operations at the corporate, regional, and field levels. He managed a revenue portfolio of over $400m across multiple brands and program offerings covering 62 campus locations. He was Sr. Vice President of Operations at Kaplan Higher Education Corporation (KHEC) and played a key role in the sale and subsequent integration of KHEC into ECA.
Previously, he worked as Vice President and Managing Director for the Le Cordon Blue Culinary Division of Career Education Corporation (CEC) where he led significant student population and revenue growth, across 15 campuses, leading to revenue increases of over $400m. During his 17-year tenure in the education sector, he had the privilege of supporting the education, graduation, and job placement of thousands of students. In addition to his work in education, Mr. Fedele worked for McDonald’s Corporation providing financial operations support to several hundred restaurant sites.
Mr. Fedele is focused on developing innovative strategies and solutions to drive consistent business growth and value. He brings an emphasis on hiring strong personnel and providing essential training and development to strengthen company vision and performance. He takes a collaborative approach to leading a business, promoting strong communication and relationship development across an organization. With a Bachelor’s in Accounting from Elmhurst College, Mr. Fedele has a strong analytical and financial background at the foundation of his operational leadership and creative entrepreneurial skills. Dominick is passionate about helping clients improve their life by providing a product or service supporting attainment of their goals.
Justin Nihiser, Chief Operating Officer
Justin Nihiser joins the Brain Balance team after more than a decade with School of Rock, the premier performance-based music franchise with over 220 locations in 10 countries. He served in a variety of roles at the company with a focus on Operations and Development. Most recently, Justin served as the Vice President of International Operations and Franchise Development for School of Rock.
Justin received his undergraduate degree from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, with a focus on professional music. He enjoyed a successful career as an in-demand producer of music for thousands of episodes of television, commercials and films simultaneous to his time at the School of Rock. Justin resides in Atlanta with his wife and daughter and is deeply passionate about the opportunity to transform the lives of the families that experience the Brain Balance program across the country.
Stéphane Bourlès, Chief Information Officer
Mr. Bourles is an innovative Information Systems leader with 18 years of experience driving IT with a passion for new technologies. Prior to joining Brain Balance Achievement Centers, he spent 4 years as Vice President of IT for Grass Valley, a leader in the Broadcast Media & Entertainment industry. During his tenure, Mr. Bourles led the Technicolor divestiture of Grass Valley and transformed its IT organization into a standalone and agile organization with the majority of its applications moved to the cloud (SaaS & PaaS).
Mr. Bourles was also an IT Director at Technicolor where he led IT for the Grass Valley business unit and managed multiple ERP, CRM and BI projects for many Technicolor divisions. He started his career with Accenture and then KPMG where he worked on SAP projects out of the Paris offices. Mr. Bourles holds a Master in Computer Science from a leading French Engineering School.
Carol Mathis, Chief Financial Officer
Carol Mathis comes to us with 17 years of professional accounting and finance experience. Her prior experience includes roles with several accounting firms including, McGladrey and Pullman, Ernest & Young, Price Waterhouse Coopers, and KPMG. Carol is also a franchisee with vomFASS, a European style retail shop. This experience provides her with a unique understanding and perspective that helps to guide and inform her approach to strategy and planning.
She received her undergraduate degree in accounting from California State University, Fullerton and an MBA from Pepperdine University. Carol lives in Southern California with her husband and niece. When not working she can be found playing board games with friends and family. Some of her favorites are Porto Rico, Sushi Go, and Eclipse.
Cynthia Siedel, Vice President of Marketing
Cynthia Siedel joins Brain Balance with over twelve years of marketing experience across digital strategy, communications, branding and social media. Prior to joining Brain Balance, she built and led digital marketing practices and other marketing functions at multiple, consumer-focused companies including Jamba Juice, Visa, Ghirardelli Chocolate and Walmart. While at Jamba Juice, she successfully led digital marketing and technology implementations for a large franchisee network including launching an “order ahead” mobile app, loyalty program and overhauling their social media and website properties.
Ms. Siedel was previously a strategy consultant for McKinsey & Company where she worked on high profile projects for several Fortune 100 executive teams. She holds an MBA and a BA in Economics from Stanford University. As the mother of three young children, she has a passion for making an impact on issues affecting children including access to equitable educational opportunities.
Dr. Rebecca Jackson, Vice President of Program and Outcomes
Rebecca Jackson comes to the role of VP of Programs and Outcomes with a depth of knowledge and passion that comes from a strong foundation of education and nearly a decade of first-hand experience at Brain Balance. Prior to joining the Brain Balance corporate team, Rebecca served as the Executive Director of three Brain Balance centers, personally overseeing more than 1,000 students’ progress through the Brain Balance program.
Rebecca graduated from Life University as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 2001. Dr. Jackson considers it an honor and a privilege to be so intricately involved with a program that makes such a lasting impact on the lives of kids and their families.
Mike Miller, Vice President of Center Enrollment
Mike has more than 22 years of experience in sales and operations in the education industry. His extensive experience focuses on building customized, industry-specific sales processes and philosophies. He has a proven history of improving sales/enrollment departments in corporations and as a result, has earned national recognition for his innovative sales presentation systems. Prior to joining Brain Balance, Mike held several Senior Vice President level roles at companies such as Education Corporation of America, Kaplan, Medtech, and Concorde Colleges. Mike also served as the Chief Operating Officer at Medtech.
He is passionate about helping students and clients see their hopes and dreams become a reality. His talent revolves around building systems that help build impactful, lasting relationships with students and parents. He believes that if each and every interaction is 100% about the student, the business will always become a success.
Mike is a University of Delaware alum and resides in Wexford, PA with his wife and two daughters.
