Children with Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) can find success both inside and outside of the classroom due to our drug-free, whole-child approach and personalized programs. Each child enrolled in The Brain Balance Achievement Center of Tulsa has a customized plan that address their specific challenges. The first step of your child’s journey with Brain Balance is taking their personalized assessment, which helps our center compile a plan after understanding your child’s individual strengths and challenges.
The Brain Balance Program is an integrated approach that addresses the whole-child and combines physical and sensory-motor exercises with academic skills training, nutrition and confidence building. In-center sessions consist of an hour of sensory-motor and academic skills training three times a week. The number of sessions is determined by the results of your child’s assessment.

ODD and Brain Balance
Oppositional Defiant Disorder is a behavioral disorder that causes children to have difficulty interacting with individuals they know well, such as parents and teachers. With symptoms most often arising before the age of 8, children with ODD have frequent arguments with adults or refuse to comply with rules, lose their temper, feel resentful or vindictive, easily or purposely annoy others, and blame others for their own misbehavior. These behaviors can cause significant issues at school, at home, or around other children as they occur frequently and are uncommon among other children in the same age group.
At the Brain Balance Achievement Center of Tulsa, we work with your child to improve behaviors. Our drug-free, integrated approach to ODD support brings parents and their children together in order to achieve a common goal - improving a child’s processing and social ability. We create personalized plans with your child in mind so that we can find the approach that works best for your child. With the Brain Balance Program, most children have in-center sessions at least 3 times per week along with at-home activities designed to help them succeed. Depending on your child’s assessment results, frequency and duration of both the in-center sessions and at-home activities may vary.
