Michaelle has 20 years experience as an Occupational Therapist. She holds 2 Bachelor degrees, one in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Westfield State College the other in Occupational Therapy from Dominican College of Blauvelt. She holds a Master of Science in Management from Troy State University. Michaelle is a Retired Major from the United States Army Reserve Specialty Corp. She has worked a multitude of settings including schools ages Pre K-12, inpatient care and out-patient Orthopedics, in home therapy for ages 3-99. Michaelle has continuing education in the areas of sensory integration, processing disorders, mental health and orthopedics. She holds a certificate for her training with NOVA, National Organization for Victim Assistance. While serving in Iraq Michaelle led two teams of mental health specialist in providing a multitude of mental health services her fellow service members. Michaelle and her family experienced life changing results through the Brain Balance Program. She and her husband Matt decided to change the course of their professional and personal lives by opening their own BBC to share this amazing experience with as many families as they can reach.
Torianna graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelors in Health and Exercise Science. In her undergrad, she worked with Windsor County’s Fire Department and Police Force administering protocol driven stress tests for individuals at risk for Cardiovascular Disease. During her stay with Colorado State University she worked closely with the Fort Collins Adult Fitness Program, where she lead Senior Fitness Assessments, trained interns on administering protocols and guided programs that catered to individuals with special needs. Throughout her professional and non-professional career, she has had experience with working with people of all ages and has worked specifically with children in multiple settings. Through Americorps and I Have a Dream foundation she worked as a volunteer counselor and a tutor with children who had learning disabilities, both cognitive and behavioral.
Torianna has always been driven to help out her community and has volunteered for events such as The Special Olympics, youth outreach camps, chaperoned the Youth Sport Camp through CSU, and a couple summer kids camps through the Lafayette recreation center in her home town. In her free time she enjoys working for her family’s business, restoring her jeep and exploring this beautiful state we live in! Torianna has always felt passionate about helping people and thrives on being a part of something that has great meaning!
Kat studied Psychology and Child and Family Studies at the University of Tennessee. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree, she worked for a non-profit organization in Knoxville as a Care Coordinator for children with mental illnesses. She spent her days advocating for these children in the school system, teaching them appropriate coping mechanisms, and assisting them in overcoming the trauma they have experienced. Kat was then promoted to Research Assistant and performed data collection and outreach for substance abuse programs within the community. Kat was drawn to Colorado by her love for the outdoors. She enjoys hiking with her two dogs, snowboarding, and traveling the world with her husband. Kat is very excited to be a part of the Brain Balance team. She enjoys getting to know all of the kids and watching the progress they make throughout their time spent at Brain Balance.
