Amanda Gunter, M.Ed
Amanda’s work and passion is to help children reach their full potential and see families healed and restored! She comes to Orlando with over 15 years of experience, beginning as a classroom teacher working with children with autism. Brain Balance may be new to Orlando, FL but Amanda is not new to Brain Balance! After witnessing the results of the Brain Balance program from one of her students, she ended her teaching career to join the Brain Balance team in 2007. Amanda was the Center Director of the Brain Balance in Peachtree City, GA for five years serving families who had children suffering with symptoms of ADHD, sensory processing, dyslexia, and learning difficulties.
In 2012 Amanda moved to Kansas City to develop a Brain Balance within a therapeutic residential boarding school for adolescents. There she gained experience collaborating with therapists, educators, and housing staff to develop a holistic brain based approach serving struggling teens. Currently, Amanda is working on her PhD in Brain Rehabilitation and specifically is doing research in the topic of the development of empathy! In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, the outdoors, and traveling abroad! She is excited to have the opportunity to serve families in the Orlando area!
Nancy graduated from Truett McConnell College with her Bachelors of Early Childhood Education and she is a certified teacher. She has previously worked at the Brain Balance of Peachtree City and the Brain Balance of Suwanee. She began working with Brain Balance in 2008. Nancy has experience in Sensory Motor, and Academic Coaching. Nancy and her husband with two children relocated to Lake Mary, Florida and is thrilled to be able to return working at Brain Balance! It’s a place where she feels she can make a difference in children’s lives. In her spare time she enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and kayaking!
Jacqueline was born in South Plainfield, New Jersey and currently resides in Orlando, Florida; where she has lived for the past 12 years. She has recently graduated top of her class from the University of Central Florida, and has received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology. As a young child Jacqueline was taught the importance of having an education, and has since then focused diligently on her academic studies. Aside from her admiration of nature and love of drawing, Jacqueline has a vested interest in learning, teaching, and helping others achieve their goals. In her spare time, Jacqueline enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, volunteering at animal shelters and traveling. Jacqueline is very excited to be a part of Brain Balance Achievement Centers and looks forward to impacting the lives of children throughout Central Florida.
Liane graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. She was raised in Puerto Rico and is fully bilingual. She has worked with the Lake Mary Police Department for 2 years as an Emergency Communications Specialist and 3 years at a Security Monitoring Center. She is the newest addition to Brain Balance and happy to be a part of the team. She is anxious to see the progression of all our students. Liane is currently part of a volleyball team in Merrill Park and has played for 15 years! She also enjoys karaoke, dancing, going out to different restaurants, and trying new foods.
Catherine comes to Brain Balance of Lake Mary with over 30 years of experience working as a registered nurse specializing in children and adolescents. She has a warm smile for families and children who come to our Center every day. Catherine is part of our front office team where she answers the phone, and manages the lobby in the afternoons. As a retired nurse, she is our loving and caring “grandma” who encourages families and children to stay the course of Brain Balance, relax, and take a deep breath! We love having Catherine as part of our front office team, she provides strength and stability for hurting families!
Lead Coach/One-on One cases
Callie was born and raised in Hickory, North Carolina. She graduated from Western Carolina University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in English. After graduating, she got married and moved to Wake Forest, North Carolina. In the summer of 2015, Callie and her husband moved to Sanford, Florida where he works as a Pastor.
Callie has a passion for working with children and seeing them grow. She loves seeing the progress in their lives as they work hard and conquer their hurdles. She is exited to use her education and experience to help children in our community. When she has time, Callie loves spending it in nature. Whether at the beach, on the lake, at a spring, or in the woods, she enjoys being outside.

Ashley grew up in Deltona, Florida. She graduated from Daytona State College with her Associates of Science in Early Childhood Education. Ashley continued on to the University of Central Florida where she earned Bachelors of Science in Psychology. While in school she taught VPK at Keiki’s Place Child Care Center in Deltona. Shortly after graduation she got a part time job at a learning center working one on one with students of all ages for eighteen months until the center relocated. She then heard about Brain Balance and researched the approach and decided it was exactly what she was looking for. She is excited to be a part of making any students that come through the program feel that they can be successful, as well as helping them to change their life for themselves and their family.

James was born and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida . He moved to Orlando a few years after high school to attend the University of Central Florida where he graduated with a bachelors degree in sports and exercise science in 2016. James’ ambition is to help shape the young minds of the future. He strives to do this by motivating, mentoring, and ultimately making an impactful positive difference in the lives of children and adolescents. James enjoys traveling, watching films, working out, trying new restaurants and watching his favorite sports teams the Miami Heat and Miami Dolphins.

Alyssa is a current college student of Seminole State College. After working with students struggling for two years in Seminole County, and two years at home in Connecticut, Alyssa was excited to join the team at Brain Balance. Alyssa enjoys volunteering at her church, reading books, bringing joy to others, and spending free time in Disney World.

Danielle is currently completing her last semester at the University of Central Florida and will be graduating Fall of 2018 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology. With her previous volunteer experience working alongside children and relevant academic coursework, Danielle has the intellect and passion to see individuals grow throughout the course of the Brain Balance Program. This pathway has given her the ambition to further pursue her education in School Counseling or Social Work. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, fitness, console gaming, reading and dining out.

Karly was born in Ambato, Ecuador andwas raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. She obtained her Bachelors of Science degree in Alternative Medicine from Everglades University. She is bilingual in Spanish/English and has participated in several internships and international conferences ; Honeywell Leadership Academy – Huntsville Alabama ,Heart to Heart Birth Center – Sanford Florida, Perfect Health Chopra Center – California ,Bio Center Reckeweg – Ecuador, Medical Outreach- Dominican Republic and the first alternative medicine convention in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Karly’s Education and experience are being applied towards the learning enrichment of children so they can reach their full potential in life.Karly enjoys composing music, reading, spending time with her family, Yoga, the outdoors, horse back ridding, writing, drawing and traveling.
