“Ethan is 11 years old and will be in the 6th grade this fall. I was always concerned about Ethan’s development.  By kindergarten he was struggling with transitions, staying on task and could be defiant. He was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome in May of that year. By 3rd grade he was diagnosed with ADD and put on medication. He was beginning to struggle with math, reading comprehension and was not playing with his peers. By 5th grade we were having a more difficult time managing his symptoms and he was struggling across the board. We knew we had to do something. Ethan began the BB program in Cary on April 29, 2011 and completed the program in July. The improvements were shocking. He had HUGE improvement in his academics, especially listening and reading comprehension and these improvements are translating into better grades in school, and less homework frustration.

The most amazing changes though are not measured by standardized tests. He no longer has horrible “melt downs.” His threshold for frustration has improved significantly. He is socializing and making friends with his peers, and can look at them when interacting. He just seems more comfortable being Ethan. Ethan’s participation in this program was not an easy task. It was a 7 hour round trip for each 1 hour session, 3 days a week for 3 months. I am here to tell you IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY WE SPENT AND EVERY MILE WE DROVE. My son has a chance now. If you have a child that suffers in the way my son has in the past, give your child the gift of Brain Balance. Follow their directions, do the homework, you will not believe the difference this can make for your child.”

“Words just cannot describe the pride. At home we are seeing a calmer, happier, and more confident boy.”

“My 9 year old son was diagnosed with ADHD and High Functioning Autism. He has been receiving therapy of one kind or another since he was 18 months old. Progress was always seen, but I wanted more. My hopes increased tremendously when I heard about the Brain Balance program. I admit, I was skeptical. So I drowned myself in research. I finally came to the conclusion that “it just made sense.” I knew that if I didn’t try I would regret it always. I was nervous that Jackson wouldn’t cooperate.

Turns out, he loved going to the center! The staff has a way of boosting the moral and confidence of these kids like I’ve never seen before.  I was also extremely nervous that it wouldn’t work. I can tell you now that it was ALL worth it! After the 12 week program the strides Jackson made has been outstanding! Sitting in Dr. Jackson’s office for our final review, and seeing the colored graphs showing his before and after scores…words just cannot describe the pride. At home we are seeing a calmer, happier, and more confident boy. He has better eye contact, his conversation skills have improved, he is more independent, better physically coordinated, he is slower to anger, and handles transitions and unexpected changes much better. It is so amazing to see my son laugh and smile as much as he does now! My husband and I are completely thrilled and excited to see these positive changes, and can’t wait to see what Jackson’s future holds. We are very thankful for this opportunity and the step up it gave our son.”

“I can now confidently say it was absolutely worth all of the sweat, tears, money, and effort we put into the program.”

“Let me begin by saying that this process was well worth the effort!!!! At the time we had a right brain weak, energetic, intelligent 4-year-old boy named Mason who dealt with issues that made everyday life a challenge. He struggled with auditory processing, impulse control, creativity, making friends, communication and being able to channel his emotions properly. Had we ever chosen to have Mason diagnosed, many would have labeled him ADHD.

We were aware that Mason was having difficulties at any early age, and decided to enroll him in a Montessori school, however being forced to socialize only exacerbated his struggles. At the time we had so many concerns. We saw how intelligent and loving and incredibly receptive he could be, but much of this was only in short spurts. It was apparent that he had great difficulty translating these skills in his everyday life. Mason is our oldest of 3 young boys, and his outbursts and destructive behavior were weighing heavily upon the entire family.

“I can now confidently say it was absolutely worth all of the sweat, tears, money, and effort we put into the program.”

“We decided to have Mason assessed by Brain Balance. In the initial assessment, we were smacked in the face with the realization that Mason was performing at a 2-year-old level at 4 ½ years old. It certainly made sense because the tantrums and listening skills were underdeveloped, to say the least. At 4 years old we decided to enroll Mason in a 6-month program with Brain Balance of Cary. The staff was always incredibly patient and they never looked at Mason or our family with any judgment, you could tell they were vested in Mason’s development and made us feel at ease.

During the 6 month program, we had tons of ups and downs. Mason was resistant to all of it at first. Being right brain weak he was incredibly uncomfortable with any change. However, we were fully committed to doing whatever it took to get Mason the assistance he needed to help him not only develop to the ability of his peers but to help him thrive.

We received a monthly summary of how he was doing; where he still needed help and what he was improving in. We began seeing an improvement in the numbers immediately, however, we still had many concerns. We were anxious to see the behavior change. We constantly questioned whether this all this effort would truly be worth it.

Having completely finished the program and allowed for another 3 months of integration I can now confidently say it was absolutely worth all of the sweat, tears, money, and effort we put into the program. We have seen a drastic difference in Mason’s ability, behavior, comprehension, and agility. We feel so incredibly grateful to everyone at Brain Balance of Cary for the time they gave us as Mason is now much more prepared to thrive in everyday life. He still is the same spunky, energetic, loving child he was before but we can truly see how much easier life is for him.

If we can offer anyone who is thinking about this program any piece of advice it would be to go into it fully committed. This is not a program that you can pick and choose what you want to do. The whole program is necessary, the diet, the screen time, the exercises….You have to be willing as a family to commit to every piece of it but if you do, the reward will be so beyond worth it! Thank you, Brain Balance for giving our son the leg up he needed to thrive. Mason is now a better version of himself!”
