    Chip Miller

    Chief Executive Officer

    Chip Miller has extensive experience as a successful leader and executive in education management. Prior to joining Brain Balance Achievement Centers, Miller successfully helped grow Score! Educational Centers, a Kaplan Inc. acquired mission-driven company operating after school tutoring centers, from nine original locations in 1995 to 164 locations in 2006. Miller climbed the leadership ranks, operating Centers, Regions, and Territories throughout the U.S., until ultimately becoming Senior Vice President of Operations, overseeing the entire field. Working from the ground level up, Miller helped build the organization that had positively impacted the lives of more than 250,000 children at the time of his departure in late 2006.

    Following Score!, Miller held a key executive role at Workforcelogic managing a large P&L, developing client relationships and overseeing service delivery for Fortune 1000 companies. For the last four years Miller was on the executive team of a fast growing private equity backed Education Company called Stratford Schools. There, he partnered with the CEO, founder, and Board of Directors to develop and execute marketing, sales, and product strategy that dramatically increased revenue growth and profitability.

    With a Bachelor of Arts from Sonoma State University as well as an advanced certification in teaching English and French, Miller has a deeply rooted passion and understanding of education management and leadership practices that will drive results.

  • Heidi-ONeill

    Heidi O’Neill

    President of Franchise Operations

    Heidi comes to Brain Balance with over 25 years of operational experience. In January, 2011, Heidi joined Brain Balance as Vice President of Operations Development and was responsible for operational systems and project development. In April, 2012, Heidi was named Senior Vice President of Operations and began overseeing all aspects of the Brain Balance franchise system. In April, 2013, Heidi was named President of Franchise Operations adding the responsibilities of Research and Development.

    Prior to Brain Balance, Heidi worked at Huntington Learning Centers. Among her significant positions, Heidi held the positions of Regional Operations Manager, Operations Trainer, and Center Director at Huntington Learning Centers. Heidi also owned and operated her own successful multi-state manufacturing facility which she sold in 1997.

    Katie Killian

    President of Corporate Operations

    Katie comes to Brain Balance with over 30 years of multi-unit operational experience. As a highly skilled admissions and marketing executive, Katie joined Brain Balance as President of Corporate Centers in April 2013. Our first Corporate Center opened in January 2014 in Mission Viejo, with multiple sites planned in the coming years. Katie is responsible for all aspects of Corporate Centers including new location selection, build-out, management and leadership development. As part of the Executive Team, Katie is instrumental in providing leadership from an Operational and Marketing perspective for efficient and profitable Center locations.

    Prior to Brain Balance, Katie has held numerous senior leadership positions in high-growth companies such as Sylvan Learning Centers, e-Sylvan, Nutri/System and New Horizons Computer Training Centers. Her experience spans educational management, start-ups, career training, multi-unit sales and private consulting. Katie has proven experience in the development of high-performing teams.

    Heidi Drummond Rose

    Chief Marketing Officer

    With over two decades of franchise marketing experience, Heidi Rose brings a wealth of strategic knowledge to the executive team in building high-growth profitable companies. Education is her vocation and her avocation. On a personal level, Heidi has spent over 12 years finding innovative educational solutions for her son who has learning differences. As a seasoned executive in B2C and B2B concepts, Heidi has helped build other companies such as Nutri/System, Sylvan Learning Centers, New Horizons Computer Learning Centers and Middlebury Interactive Languages (a joint venture with K12 Inc. and Middlebury College). In addition, Heidi serves as a Board member and consultant to Halstrom Academy and Language Stars.

    Stéphane Bourlès

    Chief Information Officer

    Stephane is an innovative Information Systems leader with 18 years’ experience driving IT organization and a passion for new technologies. Prior to joining Brain Balance Achievement Centers, Stephane spent 4 years as Vice President of IT for Grass Valley, a leader in the Broadcast Media & Entertainment industry. During his tenure, he led the Technicolor divestiture of Grass Valley and transformed its IT organization into a standalone and agile organization with most of its applications moved to the cloud (SaaS & PaaS). Prior to that, Stephane was an IT Director at Technicolor where he led IT for the Grass Valley business unit and managed multiple ERP, CRM and BI projects for many Technicolor divisions. Stephane started his career with Accenture and then KPMG where he worked on SAP projects out of the Paris offices. Stephane holds a Master in Computer Science from a French leading Engineering School.

    Erin Miller

    Chief Financial Officer

    Erin Miller was born and raised in just outside of NYC, but has lived all over the US over the course of her career. She originally started in academia, getting a BA at Emory and pursuing a PhD at the University of Chicago, before getting an MBA at UCLA. Her background has included educational and non-profit publishing as well eCommerce, and she specializes in setting up financial processes for growth and scaleability. Before coming to Brain Balance Erin worked at the Smithsonian, The National Science Teachers Association, The RAND Corporation,, and Evite.

    Maura Shannon

    Vice President of Training and Conference Coaching

    Ms. Maura Shannon has held the position of Vice President of Training and Conference Coaching since March 2014. From April 2011 through February 2014, Ms. Shannon was the Director of Training and Conference Coaching. From January 2006 through April 2009 she was Director of Coaching Services for Huntington Learning Corp in Oradell, New Jersey. From March 2001 through December 2005 she was Director of Training for Huntington Learning Corp, Oradell, New Jersey. From September 1997 through February 2001 she was a Corporate Trainer for Huntington Learning Corp, Oradell, New Jersey. From December 1995 through August 1997 she was a Center Director for Huntington Learning Corp, River Edge, New Jersey.
