A Brain Balance mom in Georgia is sharing her four year old son’s success in our program on her personal blog. After his diagnosis with Childhood Apraxia of Speech and her feeling that Apraxia wasn’t the whole story, she found our program and is so happy she did. Well progress is still continuing to happen! We went back to the center July 12 to get the primitive reflexes checked again….2 more reflexes were gone! YEA! We have been working hard on the last three and Aaron is doing well-although he is getting tired of the exercises–who can blame him he’s only 4. We try to make them fun, but sometimes mommy is tired of them as well!:) Aaron’s first day in the center was July 31. He goes to the center 3 times a week for 30 minutes in the sensory motor room. He has already moved up some levels on the exercises that he is doing-explain more later. He loves it! And he loves his instructor Ms. Kara! After only going to the center 2 times Ms. Kara was added into his bedtime prayers as a person he thanked God for!:) Yes I cried!:)
Aaron is continuing to communicate more and becoming more clear. He is developing a very independent spirit “Me do it!” We hear those words all day!!!!! Along with this new independent will is a bit of defiance…BUT…this is a good thing!! As the primitive reflexes remediate (disappear) and proper connections are made Aaron will experience developmental stages that he missed. So we have hit the independent “ME DO IT!” defiant terrible two’s like a lightning bolt!:) I remember thinking that Aaron was such a great easy going toddler and we were so lucky that we did not go through the terrible two’s with him…in actuality the terrible two’s is a great thing!! It is an indicator that proper brain development is taking place. Some children may hit it later in their three’s, but at some point they should hit it!:) Aaron still has the sweetest nature and he is still very easy going, but we are no doubt experiencing the will to do things all by himself! Which is Awesome!
