Dr. Robert Melillo, Founder of Brain Balance and Author of “Disconnected Kids” Presents “Beyond Just Hope. The Brain Balance Approach for Children with ADHD, Dyslexia, Learning Delays, Autism and Other Neurological Disorders” December 3rd at Hyatt Place – John’s Creek, Atlanta, GA
The numbers are staggering. In 1980, 1 in 10,000 children were diagnosed with a neurological disorder. In 2009, 1 in 78 will be diagnosed with neurological disorders such as ADD (attention deficit disorder), ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), Dyslexia, Learning Delays, Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome. What is the reason for this meteoric rise in these disorders? How can the course of this disorder be changed for your child?
Dr. Robert Melillo, founder of the Brain Balance program and author of the best selling book, “Disconnected Kids”, will be presenting a limited seating talk on “Beyond Just Hope. The Brain Balance Approach for Children with ADHD, Dyslexia, Learning Delays, Autism and Other Neurological Disorders” on Wednesday, December 3rd at 7:00 p.m. at Hyatt Place – John’s Creek, 11505 Medlock Bridge Road, Duluth, GA. To reserve a seat, call 770-631-3033 or email: lecture [at] brainbalancega [dot] com to reserve a seat.
For more than ten years, the Brain Balance Program has helped hundreds of children become more focused, improve their academic performance and enhance their communication and social interaction skills. The Brain Balance Program is an integrated multi modal approach that helps children struggling with neurobehavioral disorders without the use of drugs, medical procedures or psychotherapy. It is based upon the most current research which works from a brain based model recognizing that many children with these diagnoses suffer from a foundational imbalance or under-connectivity of electrical (brain) activity. This imbalance occurs within and between the two halves (hemispheres) and/or large networks of the brain. It is now understood that it is this imbalance of function, also known as “Functional Disconnection Syndrome”, which is responsible for many, if not all, of the physical, cognitive and behavioral difficulties related to these disorders.
Dr. Robert Melillo is an internationally known lecturer, author, researcher and clinician in the areas of neurology, rehabilitation, neuropsychology and neurobehavioral disorders in children. He is also an expert in clinical nutrition with over 20 years of clinical experience. He is an associate professor of clinical neurology and childhood behavioral disorders with The Carrick Institute. He holds a master’s degree in Neuroscience and is currently completing his PhD in Clinical Rehabilitation Neuropsychology. Dr. Melillo also has a degree in Chiropractic Neurology and is the former chairman of the American Board of Chiropractic Neurology.
Brain Balance Achievement Centers of Atlanta currently have three centers to serve children 4-16 throughout the metropolitan Atlanta area.
