My Son is Now So Much More Interested in Others and Interacts More
With Our Family, Classmates and Others – It’s Awesome!
My seven year old son, Matthew, had been given a diagnosis of High Functioning Autism. Prior to beginning the Brain Balance Program, he had lots of stimming, perseverations on topics of interest, and poor motor skills. He was awkward socially with inconsistent eye contact and stilted conversations. He had severe regulatory and sensory integration issues. We had tried to tackle these problems using floor time therapy, speech therapy, OT with an emphasis on sensory integration, and Samonas listening therapy.
The initial evaluation phase alone at Brain Balance helped us see the obvious breakdown that was happening between Matthew’s right and left hemisphere of his brain. After only 12 weeks in the Brain Balance program, I saw so many changes in Matthew, and I know his improvements are the direct result of the Brain Balance program.
- His handwriting and other fine motor skills increased significantly.
- He has increased awareness of others in general, and is much more in tune, responsive, inquisitive and curious. He has much more natural conversations and is more interested in others, too.
- He is much more willing to taste new foods and do so with an open mind
- He has increased endurance. He still gets tired more quickly than his sister, but now he’s much more likely to take a break and join back in the activity, instead of just being done.
